This Privacy Policy explains how Fawat ("We", "Us", "Our") collects, uses and discloses information when You use the Fawat application (the "Service"), and tells You about Your privacy rights.
1. Information We Use
Location (GPS) data
With Your permission, the app accesses Your device's location (latitude and longitude). We need this so that prayer times, and related data such as the Qibla direction, are accurate for Your exact position.
- Location access is requested through Your device's permission prompt. You can allow or deny it, and change Your choice at any time in Your device settings.
- Location is used only for the purpose above. It is not used for advertising, profiling or tracking Your movements.
- If You deny location access, You may still be able to select Your city manually, where the app supports it.
No other personal data
Apart from location as described above, Fawat does not access Your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, messages, files or any other personal data on Your device. We do not require You to create an account or provide Your name, email address or phone number to use the app.
2. Third-Party Service: AlAdhan
To get prayer time data, Fawat sends requests to the AlAdhan prayer times API (aladhan.com). These requests include Your coordinates (latitude and longitude) and the date, so that AlAdhan can return the correct prayer times.
- AlAdhan is the only third-party service We use to fetch this data.
- As with any internet request, AlAdhan's servers may receive technical information such as Your IP address. How AlAdhan handles such information is governed by its own policies; please review them on its website.
- We do not send any other personal data to AlAdhan.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To determine Your location and display accurate prayer times.
- To provide and maintain the Service.
4. Storage and Retention
Location data is used to request prayer times. Any location or prayer-time data kept on Your device (for example, to show times offline) stays on Your device and can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app. We do not maintain a server database of Your location.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell or rent Your information. Location coordinates are shared only with AlAdhan, as described in Section 2, to provide the Service. We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid request from public authorities.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Control location access: Turn location permission on or off at any time in Your device settings.
- Delete data: Clear the app's data or uninstall the app to remove information stored on Your device.
- Questions or requests: Contact Us to ask about, correct or delete any information related to You.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect Your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, so We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 16, and We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If You believe a child has provided Us with information, please contact Us and We will take steps to remove it.
9. Links to Other Websites
The Service may link to websites not operated by Us, including AlAdhan. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage You to review their privacy policies.
